Therapy for Adults

Authentic. Genuine. Playful.

In initial calls with parents looking to start their kid in play therapy, I’ve heard time and time again, “this sounds like something I could benefit from.” And honestly, why not?

Being playful doesn’t mean we aren’t doing the hard work. Somewhere along the line we got the message that we needed to be serious, to be “adults,” and that this meant only talking about it, only using our left brain, and being analytical. There’s times for this sure, and there will be times we go this route in therapy. AND… it doesn’t have to be all the time.

What if, instead, we recognized that we are the entirety of our body, not just our head? What if we felt, instead of just thought, and at times, let loose and played a little?

And what if I told you that we could do the hard work in the play? Or even that the play could be the hard work?

We all could use a little more play.
